Indigo Festival is a vibrant celebration of Hamilton's multicultural community. First held in 2000 it showcases the colour, the music, the food and traditionis of this diverse city. The festival offers a unique opportunity for communities to come together and showcase the various aspects of culture.
Indigo 2014 has five events happening during the year. The cultural festival opening kicks off on on Race Relations Day on Friday 21 and Saturday 22 March, Indigo Chef in April, Indigo Arts and Treasures in July, Indigo Youth Talent in August and Indigo Race and Indigo Ball in October.
So come and immerse yourself in the colourful display of culture and tradition that the Indigo Festival has on offer. In March watch a movie, borrow a Living Book, check out the Indigo Go street parade and watch the cultural performances while enjoying the ethnic food and crafts that our migrant communities have on offer.
It is also Hamilton's 150th year so join us in celebrating the diversity of people that have made Hamilton their home.
